A World Record PPVC project, Structure and PPVC designed by TW-ASIA – Avenue South Residence in Singapore

The 56 storey twin towers standing at 192m height, situated in Avenue South Residence Singapore, is the World’s Tallest Residential Development to be constructed using Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC), where more than 3,000 free-standing volumetric apartment modules, complete with internal finishes, fixtures and fittings, were built at a factory and transported to the construction site to be “stacked” one on top of the other.

TW-Asia Consultants Pte Ltd, is the main structural consultant of this project and has pioneered the design and research of the reinforced concrete PPVC technology using Composite Shear Wall Structural System suited for high rise building. The Structural Composite Shear Wall System is patented by TW ASIA, in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Europe and various countries, and it was devised as one of the game-changing technical solutions for the PPVC methodology in the construction build sector. With PPVC construction, the project will have shorter construction cycle, cleaner and quieter environment during construction, enhanced work safety for workers and better-quality control of the end product etc. are some of the benefits of this modern technology.

Mr Desmond Lee, Minister for National Development & Minister-in charge of Social Services Integration, was the guest of honour at the topping out ceremony of Avenue South Residence. In his speech, Minister Desmond Lee said Avenue South Residence is a good example of how the built environment sector can be more productive, sustainable and resilient.
